Why collaborate with Kamik?
I chose to collaborate with Kamik because I admire their commitment to quality and durability. As an illustrator, I want to contribute to creating pieces that are not only aesthetically pleasing but also functional for everyday life and built to last. In a world where planned obsolescence is common, I wanted to work with a local brand like Kamik, offering an alternative to fast consumption.
What’s the story behind the choice of faces for the clogs?
For this project, I wanted to bring forward expressive characters through very simplified shapes. Since the illustration is somewhat hidden inside the clog, the aim was to create a surprise effect. With two illustrations featuring faces with mixed features, I wanted to capture the idea that you can wear these clogs at any time of day and in any mood, whether dressing up to grab a coffee or slipping them on the morning after a night out...!
Tell us about the clog – what do you find interesting about this product?
Personally, I would wear clogs all the time! Even if it’s maybe a bad habit, I always keep my shoes on indoors, which is why I find clogs practical. I don’t have to complicate things or compromise on comfort—I wear the same pair of shoes inside or outside! I love how Kamik’s clogs can add a touch of personality to an outfit. The faces I integrated into the soles become a fun way to stand out while staying comfortable.
